Going back to work in Fort McMurray after an illness or injury, and your employer wants a medical clearance note? A TelePlus Care provider meets you by secure video or phone for a full assessment of your recovery and your job duties, then decides whether you are ready. The assessment visit is covered with an active Alberta Health Card, or $80 without one, and the $60 certificate fee is charged only if you are cleared.
Book Return to Work AssessmentVisit covered with an active Alberta Health Card, otherwise $80 · $60 certificate only if approved

In Fort McMurray, a TelePlus Care return to work certificate is issued only after a full assessment visit with a Canadian licensed provider. The assessment visit is covered with an active Alberta Health Card, or $80 without one. If the provider clears you to return, the certificate is $60. If not, there is no certificate fee.
Clinical content is reviewed for accuracy and scope. TelePlus Care appointments go ahead only when a doctor agrees it is the right call, after a real assessment, and the doctor will explain the next step if virtual care is not the right fit.
In Wood Buffalo, going back to work is often a safety question. Thousands of rotational workers live in camps here for part of the year, and sites commonly want written confirmation before anyone returns to heavy equipment, driving or other safety-sensitive tasks. Many sites also use their own fitness for duty form. A video or phone visit can happen from home in town or from a camp room.
A return to work certificate is not the same as a regular doctor's note. A note explains why you were away. The certificate confirms you are fit to go back, gives your return date and, when needed, lists temporary limits on your duties, such as lighter work or shorter shifts.

Clearing someone to return to work is a medical decision, so it always starts with a full visit. Nothing is signed before the provider has talked with you.

There are two separate charges, and you only pay the second one if you are cleared. The visit is billed like any regular TelePlus Care appointment.
Sometimes it is too early to go back, or the provider needs more information first, such as a specialist report, test results or an in-person exam. In that case you are not charged the $60 certificate fee, and the provider explains the next step. That may be more time off, a follow-up visit, or seeing a doctor in person.
A clearance for a demanding site role may need an in-person exam, and the provider will say so plainly. The emergency department at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, 7 Hospital Street, is open 24 hours, and on site you should follow your site's emergency procedures as well. Health Link 811 has nurses available around the clock.

Having these ready helps the provider make a decision in one visit. Patients in Fort McMurray and the surrounding area, including Anzac, Conklin, Janvier, Fort McKay and Saprae Creek Estates, book the same way.
