Women's Health Clinic in Edmonton — Virtual Care for Every Stage
TelePlus Care is Edmonton's online women's health clinic — a single, trusted place to talk with an Alberta-licensed physician about contraception, UTIs, yeast and bacterial infections, menopause, PCOS, hormone balance, weight management, and mental health support for women. Most appointments are available same-day or next-day, and the consultation may be covered by Alberta Health Care for eligible AHCIP holders. Our physicians are family doctors, not specialist OB/GYNs, so we are honest about what virtual care can and cannot do — and we coordinate referrals when an in-person specialist is the right next step.

Edmonton's Online Women's Health Clinic — Full Range of Services
TelePlus Care brings the most-requested women's health services together in one virtual clinic. Whether you are starting birth control, managing a UTI, navigating perimenopause, or asking about PCOS, you can speak with an Alberta-licensed physician without driving across Edmonton or sitting in a waiting room. - Urinary tract infections (UTIs) — symptom assessment, urine culture requisition, antibiotic treatment
- Yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis (BV) — virtual diagnosis and prescription treatment
- Menopause and perimenopause — hot flashes, sleep disturbance, mood, HRT discussion

Edmonton Women's Health — How We Fit With AHS
Edmonton has excellent specialist resources at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women on the Royal Alexandra campus, the Royal Alexandra Hospital obstetrics service, the University of Alberta Women's Clinic, the Misericordia, and the Grey Nuns. These are the right destinations for surgical care, complex specialist gynecology, and obstetric care. They also carry significant wait times for non-urgent referrals.
TelePlus Care fills the gap for the everyday women's health concerns that do not need a specialist — the things that previously meant a same-week appointment with a family doctor and now, between family doctor wait times and walk-in clinic queues, are harder to access. We are not a replacement for AHS specialist care; we are a fast, accessible front door for the concerns a family physician can manage virtually.

Privacy and Confidentiality
Women's health is personal. Many of the reasons women contact our clinic — contraception, a UTI that keeps coming back, an STI question, perimenopause, anxiety — are sensitive concerns most patients prefer to discuss privately. Every TelePlus Care visit takes place over secure, encrypted video or phone. There are no waiting rooms, no chance of bumping into someone you know, and no need to take time off work. Your records are protected under Alberta's Health Information Act and shared only with your written consent or as required for your care.

Lab Work and Imaging Across Edmonton
Most women's health workups need confirmatory testing. After your virtual visit, your physician issues requisitions you take to any community lab or imaging centre in Edmonton and surrounding communities. There is usually no out-of-pocket cost to AHCIP holders for the test itself.
- DynaLIFE Medical Labs — community lab sites across Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc, and Spruce Grove
- Insight Medical Imaging — pelvic ultrasound, breast imaging, and bone density
- Mayfair Diagnostics Edmonton — full diagnostic imaging services
- AHS public labs and imaging — available at Royal Alex, U of A Hospital, Misericordia, and Grey Nuns

When You Need a Specialist — How Referrals Work
Some concerns are beyond the scope of virtual family medicine and need a specialist OB/GYN. We are honest about that and coordinate referrals through Alberta's standard specialist referral system. Common reasons we refer include abnormal Pap smears requiring colposcopy, suspected endometriosis or fibroids needing surgical opinion, postmenopausal bleeding, recurrent miscarriage, infertility evaluation, and ongoing abnormal uterine bleeding requiring procedural intervention. We also refer for any procedure requiring physical presence — IUD insertion or removal, pelvic exam, Pap smear, endometrial biopsy, or surgical care.
