Need a Calgary blood test without a requisition? Book TelePlus Care for a Canadian-licensed doctor's assessment and clear next step.

Calgary patients who need blood work but do not yet have a requisition can start with a TelePlus Care medical assessment. If testing is appropriate, a Canadian-licensed doctor prepares the requisition; the patient then completes collection at an eligible Alberta Precision Laboratories site.
Clinical content is reviewed for accuracy and scope. TelePlus Care appointments go ahead only when a doctor agrees it is the right call, after a real assessment, and the doctor will explain the next step if virtual care is not the right fit.
When a Calgary walk-in clinic is full or your family doctor is not available, you can still take the next step. Book TelePlus Care from home, work, or another private place in Alberta. A doctor will focus on why you need testing and choose the blood work that can meaningfully guide your care. You do not need to arrive with a self-selected list of tests.

If you do not yet have a requisition, choose TelePlus Care's General Medical Care assessment. Complete the secure intake and meet the doctor while you are physically in Alberta. When blood work is appropriate, the doctor can prepare the requisition and explain fasting, medication timing, and follow-up. You then arrange collection with the laboratory named by your provider.

Alberta Precision Laboratories operates community Patient Service Centres across Calgary. Current AHS listings include McKnight and Riverbend for walk-in and appointment service, while the site at 1800 194 Avenue SE and Thorncliffe Medical Centre are appointment-only. Hospital outpatient laboratories can have referral restrictions, so use the official APL location finder and confirm the site, hours, and access rules before you travel.

The useful test is the one that answers a clear clinical question. Ordering broad panels without context can create confusing borderline results, so the doctor considers your symptoms, age, risks, medications, and prior testing. Tell the doctor what has changed and what has already been investigated rather than focusing only on a test name.
Good preparation makes a result more reliable. Do not fast, stop a prescription, or change a supplement merely because blood work was ordered. Follow the instructions from the doctor and the laboratory. Recheck the APL site information on the day of your visit, particularly when winter weather or a long cross-city drive may affect your arrival.
A result outside the reference range is not automatically a diagnosis, and a result inside the range does not always explain ongoing symptoms. The ordering plan should make clear how important findings will be reviewed. TelePlus Care can help arrange clinically appropriate follow-up, including repeat testing, monitoring, treatment, referral, or an in-person assessment.
