Ontario Sick Leave Rules
The Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 provides up to 3 unpaid sick days per year after 2 consecutive weeks of employment. Federally regulated workers in Ontario (banks, Air Canada, Bell) get up to 10 paid sick days under the Canada Labour Code. Employers may ask for a doctor's note as proof, and WSIB claims for work-related injuries or illness often require medical documentation.
